The first ever Hallam Festival of Education takes place on 14-15 June 2019. The technology strand on day two will be hosted at Tes Resources, where more than 20 speakers will share insight, experience and opinion across eleven sessions, covering the many facets of ed-tech. This includes online learning, gaming, AR in the classroom, creating affordable VR solutions and fixing the gender gap in computing.
The Hallam Festival of Education
Sheffield Hallam University’s first Festival of Education is coming, designed to celebrate and shout about the belief that education has the power to make transformative change. The event is for education professionals working from 0-19 and in true festival style, delegates can pick and choose what sessions they go to, depending on where their interests lie.
Panel discussions, round-tables, workshops, performances and more make up a full and varied programme of 10 strands, which include STEM Education, Evidence-Informed Education and Technology.
Speakers, contributors and delegates from South Yorkshire and beyond will come together to explore one single ambition: improving the lives of children and young people.
A major event for Sheffield’s learning technologies sector
The Technology strand line-up is looking particularly impressive and presents an excellent opportunity for the ed-tech sector in Sheffield to showcase its form. Speakers include Iain Simons, CEO of the National Videogame Museum, Michael Shaw, Director of Tes Resources and Paul Hilton, technical Director of Can Studios. We’re also delighted to see Sheffield Digital member, Ben Atha from the Developer Academy involved in a panel discussion about the limitations of online learning, during the Saturday Sessions.
