Gravitate, Associate Sponsors of Sheffield Digital and a leading digital accounting, finance and corporate finance service for the Sheffield area, have announced the appointment of Luke James as Director of a new Gravitate Tax service line.

While Gravitate has provided qualified tax advice for clients since its inception in 2019, Luke’s arrival marks a significant service expansion for the company.

Luke will be providing Gravitate client businesses and their directors with strategic, high-value tax planning advice, including complete Corporate Tax Planning, Personal Tax for Directors/Shareholders, Share Scheme advice, Employment Tax optimisation and International Tax Planning.

These services will be delivered with the same technology-driven and collaborative approach that Gravitate’s clients have come to expect, maximising their tax efficiency and safeguarding wealth for businesses and their shareholders.

On joining Gravitate, Luke said: “My goal is to provide Gravitate clients with high value advice and support with transactional work, from exit and estate planning, share sales, acquisitions, restructuring and share schemes, to HMRC enquiry dispute work and other bespoke projects.”

Sam Newton, Director and Co-Founder of Gravitate, describes Luke’s arrival as a game changer for the company. “Our aim is to fully support our clients from start-up through to achieving their goals, whether that’s passing the business on to staff or family, or achieving their dream exit. We have an incredible accounts team and last year we bolted on the Corporate Finance department, supporting clients on business transactions. Gravitate Tax is the final piece of the puzzle, allowing us to have the three core disciplines of financial advisory all under one roof.

“Recruiting the right person has been a two-year journey, because it’s vital they’re intrinsically aligned with our core values and mission at Gravitate. Luke is that person. Hardworking and results-driven, he lives our value of ‘we don’t do things by halves’.”

Gravitate will be offering a free 30-minute tax consultation with Sheffield Digital members who would like to learn more about optimising their tax position. You can contact them via their Sheffield Digital sponsor page.
