Rohit Chakraborty on the Urban Flows Observatory and collecting Sheffield’s physical data

Episode 40 of the Sheffield Digital Podcast features a fascinating interview with Rohit Chakraborty from the Urban Flows Observatory at the University of Sheffield.

The Urban Flows Observatory is a brilliant project that collects and analyses the city’s physical data. Rohit has played a big role in the project’s development with a particular focus on air pollution.

In our chat, we asked Rohit all about the project, including how it got started, what kind of impact it has had and crucially, how Sheffield’s digital community (that’s you!) can get involved.

The first step is to attend the upcoming Data Hack that the Observatory is running on Saturday 23 November. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about the project, share your ideas and get hands on with some of the data already collected.

This is the first episode of the podcast where we’ve just shared the interview. If you want to hear all the latest news and updates, you can listen to episode 39 where Mel and Chris go behind the scenes of Sheffield Digital.

Feel free to send feedback to info@sheffield.digital if you have any thoughts or suggestions. We’re all ears!
