The Role

Join an applied research centre that aims to contribute to the safety and security of individuals, communities, and society in the UK and across the globe.

The Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence & Organised Crime Research (CENTRIC) is looking for a software developer to play a key role developing new and contemporary technologies for security across a range of CENTRIC’s projects.

You will be working as part of a dedicated project team and with European partners (including UK and European Law Enforcement Agencies) within CENTRIC contributing to the development of software tools and applications. You will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle from project definition and requirements elicitation through to development and full-scale piloting within a law enforcement environment.

CENTRIC operates in fields such as terrorism, organised crime, open source intelligence, international law enforcement, border management, resilience, and humanitarian assistance. In each of these fields the kinds of software CENTRIC develops spans the domains of situational awareness, social media monitoring, data analytics, virtual reality training, and mobile applications.

You will also develop strong links with universities, law enforcement agencies, intergovernmental organisations, and industry, and the opportunity to work closely with researchers and practitioners with a wide range of technical expertise.
