The role involves:
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support reporting and analytics
  • Developing, optimising and maintaining data models that enable effective reporting, business intelligence and data-driven decision making.
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and optimising data solutions to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Promoting innovation, security and continuous improvement by contributing to data engineering best practices, standards and governance across the organisation.
  • Supporting corporate change initiatives, ensuring successful technical delivery of transformation programmes, including the implementation of the University’s Data Strategy.
  • Designing and developing integrations, workflows and automations using low-code platforms, APIs, and modern integration technologies.
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.
  • Creating, maintaining and enhancing technical documentations, data standards and knowledge libraries to support knowledge sharing.
  • Providing technical guidance and expertise to colleagues, supporting a culture of collaboration and development.
You will have;
  • Proven experience designing, developing and supporting ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Good understanding of data modelling principles and the creation of data solutions that support reporting and analytics.
  • Experience working with Microsoft data technologies.
  • A strong ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing business and technical requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • An understanding of corporate change processes and the role IT plays in digital transformation.
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
