TechTrade Yorkshire launched for September 2016

This new trade event in Leeds should be a good place to meet IT decision makers.

Registration is open for the inaugural TechTrade Yorkshire (TY16) event, which will take place on 8 September at Elland Road, Leeds.

Set to focus on how tech can transform organisations’ productivity, efficiency and innovation, this free one day programme is set to attract IT decision makers from a variety of sectors across the region and should therefore provide a good opportunity for local agencies to raise their profile with potential customers.

TY16 is the brainchild of Mooncas, the team behind the successful Manufactured Yorkshire which took place in May. Founder Chrissie Gale comments on the plans for the sister TechTrade event: “Yorkshire is fast becoming renowned for its digital prowess, with some of the country’s most prolific technological talent based here in the region. This event is designed to bring that community together, to help unlock Yorkshire’s further potential for growth.

“We don’t just want to look at IT from a functional or compliance perspective. We want to highlight its potential to fuel the much-discussed Northern Powerhouse. James Akrigg is therefore one of many speakers we look forward to welcoming to TY16 as part of our goal to see Yorkshire’s tech future, today.”

Keynote speaker James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners at Microsoft will take to the stage to talk about how organisations can achieve more with technology. Further speakers include Vince Sparks, IT Director of Eddie Stobart; David Warburton-Broadhurst, CIO of Metronet UK; Dr Adam Beaumont, CEO and Founder of AQL; Dylan Roberts, Chief Digital Officer at Leeds City Council; and Richard Carter, Chief Executive of Nostrum Group.

The knowledge-based seminars and 10 minute WIFLE (What I Feel Like Expressing) sessions will run alongside an exhibition featuring around 50 tech specialists.

Sheffield Digital is supporting this event as a promotional partner because we think it will help to raise the profile of Yorkshire’s digital capabilities and provide an opportunity for Sheffield companies to make their presence felt within the wider Yorkshire and Northern England context. Similar organisations from Leeds, York, Bradford and Hull are also involved. You can find out more about the event at www.techtradeyorkshire.co.uk.
